Val has over 25 years experience in arts management and is a master multi-tasker. She spent nine years as the Managing Director of Presentation House Cultural Society in North Vancouver. From 2004 – 2008, Val was the Administrative Manager / Managing Director for the Performing Arts Lodge (PAL Vancouver). Skills and experience include grant writing, budgeting, production, facility management, policy development and strategic and operational planning.

Val is a devoted and active member of the arts community. Previously sitting on boards and committees for Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance, Theatre BC, Vancouver International Folk Music Festival, District of Sechelt Arts and Culture Advisory Committee and many more.

Since 2001, Val has been a committee member for Capilano University’s Arts & Entertainment Management Program. She was also the Audience Services Lab Supervisor for the program in 2000/01.

For the past couple of years, Val has been doing freelance consulting for non-profit organizations and taking professional and personal development courses. She has completed CTI coach training, an extensive 10 month Leadership program through CTI and other personal development workshops.
